Let's try something else now.
Let's work in the past.
Let's see how the day treats us.
Let's forgive ourselves all in all.
The trees, they talk of wonder;
the shade, the day is long.
Let's talk of all this grace,
to walk in how it grows.
Now in fall, its crinkly,
it crackles with its death.
It wonders how to begin again,
but rain and earth and sun know better.
It's always how it looks at life,
so hidden from our view.
It gives a glimpse of God's only love,
it tells us the leaf begins anew.
